Making Pals with the Orange Gal

Managing Anxiety for Your Highly Sensitive Child Group Program

I was so anxious as a kid that I was actually dissociating, and I thought something was terribly wrong me. I didn’t even know it was anxiety, much less did I have tools to help me manage it. My unmanaged anxiety caused major problems for me as I got older, including panic attacks, chronic pain, and depression.

So when my daughter started to have anxiety at an early age, I knew that I wanted her to have more tools than I did as a kid. It was so bad, my daughter had panic attacks and even threatened to jump out of her window a few times, so the worry I felt was real and terrible. I was determined to learn how to help her have a better experience than I did.

I know how heartbreaking and stressful to see you child going through it. And it can feel so helpless.

But there is hope.

One day last year, when my daughter was 13, we were talking about how she was so anxious a few years back, but things have gotten better for her recently. She said, “Mom, I know how to feel better now because you taught me how and you always help me.”

I was floored and also so happy that she felt like she knew how to handle her anxiety after years of my coaching her through it.

And now I want to share the tools that I use for myself and for my daughter with you, since I know firsthand how hard it is to know what to do with anxiety.

I am offering a Small Group Coaching Program called Making Pals with the Orange Gal (Managing Anxiety for You and Your Kids) after the new year.

We will meet for 6 weeks total. I will present all my tools for you to help your child with their anxiety. I will be offering group coaching sessions during the week for you to join in on to get specific help for you and your child and you will be surrounded and held by other parents who are going through the same thing.

No matter what kind of anxiety your child has, whether it be school refusal, getting dressed, going to sports or activities, social anxiety, schoolwork anxiety, phobias, all the tools are the same and will address all of these issues.

TOPICS that will be addressed:

  • Week 1: What is anxiety and how it may be showing up in your child
  • Week 2 and 3: Helping your child at home (anxiety tools and language to use when you child is anxious)
  • Week 4 and 5: Other influences on anxiety (social media, sensory processing issues, ADHD)  and parental pressure and parenting styles
  • Week 6: your specific issues and anxiety tools for parents
